Roger Ferris served as an Army finance specialist for four years in the 1980’s.
Like many veterans, he has taken advantage of military benefits from time to time.
“When I first got out of the service, I was on an education save program. And I took that money and went to travel agency school,” he said.
Now, he needs the services provided by the Utica Veterans Outreach Center. He’s been unemployed for two years and sometimes uses their food pantry to eat, but he’s not the only one out of work and struggling.
Representative Richard Hanna met with local Veterans Affairs officials in Utica Tuesday to take on those problems.
