Hanna: New York needs a better approach to business, education

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — For U.S. Rep. Richard Hanna, of Barneveld, it’s about getting the federal government to rethink its approach to business and education.

The Republican, whose congressional district includes Broome County, primarily wants to reduce the tax burden on businesses in New York, while improving the educational system to attract more technology jobs in an increasingly competitive global marketplace.

“New York simply has not been a business-friendly state,” he said Friday, during an hour-long editorial board meeting with the Press & Sun-Bulletin.
