Hanna supports Keystone XL Pipeline

Binghamton (WIVT) – Republican U.S. Representative Richard Hanna says it’s time to start building the proposed Keystone XL Pipeline.

The controversial pipeline would move crude oil from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico, but its construction has been halted as it seeks government approval.

Hanna said pipelines are the safest way to transport oil, and that the Keystone would have minimal impact on the environment.

He also said that in addition to creating thousands of jobs, the pipeline would allow the U.S. to stop spending billions on buying energy from foreign countries.

The U.S. House of Representatives approved its construction on Friday, although President Obama is expected to veto the bill.
