Hanna Votes to Extend Bush Tax Cuts

AUBURN, N.Y. (The Citizen)  — The House of Representatives voted Wednesday to extend the Bush tax cuts through 2013 — a move that most Democrats oppose and is the latest round in a fight over

The Job Protection and Recession Prevention Act of 2012 passed the House by a vote of 256-171. Cayuga County’s representatives, U.S. Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle and U.S. Rep. Richard Hanna, voted for the extension.

Hanna, R-Barneveld, said it’s important to avoid allowing the tax cuts to expire because it would lead to increased tax rates in tough economic times.
