Hanna Votes To Pass ‘Homes for Heroes Act’

Washington, D.C. (WIBX) – Homeless veterans are getting a helping hand, thanks to the United States Congress.

Congressman Richard Hanna recently voted to pass the “Homes for Heroes Act,” establishing a Special Assistant for Veterans Affairs and requiring yearly reports on homeless veteran statistics.

The Special Assistant would act as a liaison to the Department of Veterans Affairs and work with local officials and non-profit groups to coordinate services for veterans. The yearly reports from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will outline the actions being taken in order to meet homeless veteran’s needs.
