LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. — The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has endorsed Congressman Richard Hanna in his re-election bid for the 22nd Congressional District of New York.
Hanna made the announcement this morning at the Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce’s annual Legislative Breakfast.
Hanna, a 30-year business owner in upstate New York who employed more than 450 people, has worked to rebuild upstate New York’s economy and has been focused on putting people back to work. Hanna earned the endorsement because of his support on pro-business issues.
“In today’s economy, it is critical that Members of Congress provide strong support of free enterprise and leadership for policies that will return the United States to its full growth potential,” U.S. Chamber President and CEO Thomas J. Donohue said. “We believe that your re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives will help produce sustained economic growth, help create jobs, and get our country back on track.”
For the third year in a row, Hanna also received the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s prestigious “Spirit of Enterprise Award,” which is given annually to members of Congress based on rankings of key votes. Hanna received the highest score among New York’s representatives.
“I am honored to be endorsed by the U.S. Chamber because supporting small businesses has been the hallmark of my life,” Hanna said. “I look forward to continuing to work at the federal level to support the business community.”
